La Petite Maison (The Small House) is in fact deceptively spacious (60 m2) with a living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Its history is uncertain but it probably was once a farm worker's cottage. It has been restored to a high standard to sleep up to 4 people in a double and a twin bedroom.
Ground Floor
The entrance opens into the spacious living room with exposed old oak beams and the original "Coeurs de demoiselles" ("Maidens hearts") stone floor.
There is a large fireplace that is now equipped with a modern, efficient log burning stove - Very cosy if occasionally an early or late season evening is a bit chilly.
The kitchen area is comprehensively equipped and includes a gas cooker with oven and grill, refrigerator with freezing compartment and a microwave. The dining table seats 4 and there is a sofa in the sitting area. The modern flat-screen TV receives UK channels (BBC, ITV, Ch4 etc.) via satellite and non-subscription French terrestrial digital channels.
Through an archway from the living room is a lobby area and the first bathroom with toilet, washbasin and shower.
Leading from the lobby is the ground floor bedroom. This is a large room with exposed beams and triple french doors leading onto the garden and courtyard. It has a double bed and the usual storage facilities together with its own en-suite bathroom, again with toilet, washbasin and shower.
First Floor
Stairs lead from the living room directly to the upper bedroom which has two single beds plus the usual storage facilities. Please note that this room has restricted head-height at the eaves.
Outside you will find the west facing terrace. It is surrounded by flower filled low walls and has a teak table and chairs and a BBQ for those long summer evenings.
We provide all bedding and also bath and hand towels. Additional equipment includes a clothes airer, ironing board and iron. There is a radio/CD player but please bring your own CDs (our musical taste may not be to your liking!).
